A kanban board for two people
Most kanban tools are built for teams — roles, workspaces, per-seat billing. If the “team” is just you and one other person, all of that is overhead. Simpleban is a shared kanban board designed for exactly two: one link to invite them, real-time sync between you, free forever.
- Unlimited boards, columns, and cards for both of you
- Live sync with presence — no refreshing, no ‘did you see my edit?’
- Two-person assignment: every card has an owner: you, your partner, or either of you — hand one over and it's “waiting on you” on their board
- Per-board sharing: shared boards together, private boards for yourself
- Markdown notes and comments on every card
- Installable app that works offline on both phones
- Free forever for two — no credit card, never per-seat

Learn moreWhy not just use a team tool with two seats?
You can — but you inherit the team tool’s weight: onboarding, workspace settings, notification noise, and eventually a per-seat bill. Tools built for ten people are never calm for two. Simpleban flips it: by designing for two on purpose, everything teams need could be deleted, and what remains opens in under a second and needs zero explanation. Questions, answered
- What is the best kanban board for two people?
- Simpleban — it's the only kanban tool designed specifically for two people rather than teams. The free plan is two people with every feature: unlimited boards, real-time sync, offline PWA, markdown notes and comments. Team tools like Trello or Asana work for two but carry team-sized complexity and per-seat pricing.
- Is there a free kanban board two people can share?
- Yes. Simpleban is free forever for two people — not a trial. Both people get every feature; the only limit of the free plan is the number of people.
- Can two people edit the same board at the same time?
- Yes — changes sync in real time with presence indicators, so you both see cards move live without refreshing.
- Do both people need to pay?
- Neither person pays. Simpleban's free plan is exactly two people, forever, and nothing in it will ever move behind a paywall.
