Simpleban for cofounder pairs

Ship together. Skip the process.

Two founders don’t need sprints, story points, or a triage meeting. You need one honest answer, always visible: what are we each doing right now, and what’s next? Simpleban is that — a real-time board with columns and cards and deliberately nothing else.

The two-person tooling trap

Big tools make two people slower

Linear and Jira earn their complexity at 20 engineers. At two, the workflow config, cycles, and permissions are pure overhead between you and shipping.

Chat is where tasks go to die

“Can you also fix…” disappears 40 messages up. A card on the board survives the conversation and shows up in the right column.

Notion boards rot

A kanban inside a wiki becomes a museum. Simpleban opens in under a second and every action is instant — low enough friction that the board stays true.

How founding pairs run it

One board per surface — Now · Next · Someday · Done — or just one board, period. Cards carry markdown notes and comments, so context lives with the task. Presence and live sync mean the board is your standup: open it, see what moved, get back to work.

Questions, answered

We'll grow past two people. Then what?
Flat-priced plans (up to 100, then 500 people) are coming — never per-seat. Until then the free plan covers the founding pair with everything included.
Why not Linear?
Linear is superb for engineering teams with process. If you're two people who talk all day, you don't need cycles and triage — you need a shared surface that costs zero attention. That's the niche Simpleban occupies on purpose.
Can we keep separate private boards?
Yes — sharing is per board. Shared roadmap, private scratchpads.
Is our data safe?
Boards are private to the two of you, synced over TLS and stored in Postgres with row-level security. Nothing is public unless you invite someone.
